News:

My name is Patsy Russell. I will be Lt. Gov. of Division 5 for 2023-24. I know many of you and I hope to get better acquainted with all of you in the coming year. I look forward to visiting your clubs and learning about your many projects. We do a lot of great work for children in Division 5!

For those of you who are thinking “I’ve never heard of this woman,” I will admit that I have not been active above my club level for several years. I have been a member of Maryville Kiwanis for 10 years and was president in 2016-17. And Maryville Kiwanis has managed to keep me pretty busy! I am chair of the SLP Committee, and our Imagination Library Committee. I also advise four Builders Clubs, the Circle K at Maryville College, Co-direct our Leadership Adventure Camp, and coordinate our reading mentor program.

Then, in the spring of 2022, Martin Shafer visited our club and asked if we could “talk.” After he asked me to consider being Lt. Gov., I thought about how important relationships with fellow Kiwanians are and how much I have learned from our shared experiences. So, I agreed to serve.
